We had record colds, we had snow, but we also had a fantastic hands-on laboratory workshop on methods for the determination of aflatoxins in food.
The  end of a year is a good time to reflect on what we have accomplished in the last 12 months and here at JIFSAN, especially in the Lab, we can honestly say that we've had a great year and made a lot of new friends!
Over the past month, the International Food Safety Training Laboratory held several courses for participants all over the world. They included training on detecting, identifying, and characterizing microbiological methods and on Whole Genome Sequencing.
The upcoming 2016 courses in the International Food Safety Training Laboratory are now open for registration. Courses range from one-week to two-week schedules and include food safety methods, analysis, and hands-on training.
The Joint Institute for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition taught food safety techniques to participants from China as part of a three-phase training program by the Global Food Safety Partnership (GFSP).
