IFSTL Offering Whole Genome Sequencing Course

The JIFSAN International Food safety Training Laboratory is offering a course on Whole Genome Sequencing (WGS) from March 16-20.

The course runs in collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration (FDA)/the Center for Food Safety and Applied Nutrition (CFSAN). Participants will listen to lectures on WGS, comparisons of different technologies, and overviews of FDA’s Genome Trakr and trouble shooting. The course also includes hands-on laboratory exercises guided by subject matter experts from the FDA using Illumina’s MiSeq.

Instructors include Dr. Marc Allard, Dr. Eric Brown, and Dr. Eric Stevens from the FDA as well as Mr. Bill Klimke from the National Center for Biotechnology Information (NCBI).
